Azerbaijan Airplanes Plane Crash Footage
An Azerbaijani Embraer 190 airliner crashed near Aktau, Kazakhstan, during an emergency landing 3km from the city, likely killing over 30 people. Kazakhstan’s Emergency Ministry confirmed that 67 people, including five crew, were aboard. So far, 28 survivors have been hospitalized, and four bodies recovered. The death toll may rise as search efforts continue.
The plane, operated by Azerbaijan Airlines, was traveling from Baku to Grozny. Passengers included 37 Azerbaijani, 16 Russian, six Kazakh, and three Kyrgyz citizens. A bird strike reportedly caused the pilot to divert, leading to the crash. Videos showed the plane bursting into flames on impact, and survivors dragging others from the wreckage.
Flight data suggested the plane faced erratic altitude changes before crashing. FlightRadar24 reported “strong GPS jamming,” potentially interfering with the flight, an issue Russia has previously been blamed for in the region.
