KUALA LANGAT, Malaysia – A 43-year-old motorcyclist was killed on 14 May 2025 after being hit by a truck while stopped at a traffic light along Jalan Banting–KLIA.
Police said the victim was thrown from his motorcycle and pinned under the truck. He died at the scene. The crash, captured on video, has since gone viral. The truck was seized, and police launched an investigation under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
Truck driver S. Mohanatas, 32, was later charged with driving under the influence and causing death under Section 44(1)(A) of the same Act. He pleaded not guilty and admitted in court that he did not have a valid driving licence.
Bail was set at RM8,000 (USD 1,874). If convicted, he faces up to 15 years in jail and a fine between RM50,000 (USD 11,715) and RM100,000 (USD 23,430).
