An armed robbery attempt in San Joaquín, Chile, resulted in a criminal being shot in the face by a police officer. According to preliminary information, the robbers followed a man who had just made a withdrawal from a bank branch, with the intention of robbing him.
When they were about to commit the crime at the intersection of Benozzo Gozzoli and Pirámide, a police officer present at the scene foiled the robbery by shooting at the criminals, resulting in one of them being injured in the face.
The General of the Carabineros, Jean Camus, reported that the victim suffered a head injury after being hit, and that two suspects have been arrested. Although he confirmed that both suspects were injured during the confrontation with the police officer, he did not provide details about their injuries.
Finally, he indicated that the attempted theft of money was thwarted.
