An accident on the Valencia Stretch claimed the life of a man from Wallerfield, while a female occupant of the vehicle sustained minor injuries. According to a police report, the incident occurred yesterday morning at around 2:15 am. The driver, Daniel Williams, was traveling west along the Valencia Stretch in his Nissan Wingroad Wagon PDT 2017 with a female passenger.
When Williams reached the roundabout at the Valencia Bypass, he attempted to negotiate the corner but lost control of the vehicle. As a result, the car flipped several times before landing on its hood. Sadly, Williams died on the spot, his body found partially hanging from the vehicle with his skull cracked open and blood flowing.
Meanwhile, the female passenger, Rebecca Alicia Kerr, managed to escape with minor injuries. Emergency medical services transported her to the Sangre Grande Hospital for treatment. While the cause of the accident is still under investigation, initial police reports suggest that the driver’s loss of control of the vehicle was the main factor behind the crash.
The accident is a tragic reminder of the importance of safe driving and the need to take extra precautions while on the road. As such, it serves as a warning to all drivers to be extra vigilant and to observe traffic rules and regulations at all times. Our thoughts and condolences go out to the family and loved ones of the deceased.
